MECHANICAL SEALS

GEM Cartridge Mounted Stationary Design Mechanical Seal

The Gem Cartridge Seal A stationary seal is "a seal design in which the flexible members (such as springs) do not rotate with the shaft but are mounted in the pump housing or gland." The springs in the GEM seal are located in the gland, therefore are not required to flex to adjust to misalignment, thus eliminating wear in secondary areas of the seal.

Fits Narrow Stuffing Boxes

Seal sizes 1" through 1-3/8" (inclusive) require a 5/16" cross section; seal sizes 1-1/2" through 2-5/8" (inclusive) require a 3/8" cross section.

Cast Gland

The GEM design features a cast gland that offers improved strength with economy in mind. The gland has a vent and drain connection.

Impeller Adjustments In Service

Disassembling the pump is unnecessary to make impeller clearance adjustments.

Cartridge Mounted

The seal is pre-assembled at the factory, mounted on its sleeve and installed in the gland for easy installation.

No Installation Measurements

Mechanics are not required to make critical installation measurements in order to install the seal.

No Shaft Fretting Wear

No shaft fretting wear occurs, because the O-ring on the shaft is static and does not move.

RBD Reciprocal Balanced Duplex Cartridge Mounted Seal

The RBD Cartridge Seal RBD seals are used in applications where a product leakage of hazardous, toxic and costly products cannot be tolerated and / or applications which require positive lubrication without dilution of pumped product.

Cartridge Mounted

Factory assembled and pressure tested prior to shipment.

Slotted Gland

The slotted gland offers more versatility with bolting patterns.

Compact Design

Permits use in smaller ANSI pumps without equipment modification including those with 5/16" cross section stuffing boxes.

Stationary Seal Design

Eliminates spring fatigue and automatically aligns seal faces at a perfect right angle to pump shaft.

Reciprocal Balance

Can be used as a double or tandem seal.

No Installation Measurements

Longer Seal Life

All O-rings and tabs are virtually static during normal service conditions and are not required to adjust for misalignment, therefore they last longer.

SRS Short Rotary Mechanical Seal

The SRS Short Rotary Seal SRS is a single inside rotary unit designed for general service. Its short working length and small cross-section permit installation is smaller stuffing boxes without equipment modifications. For ease of interchangeability, various stationary seat ring designs and materials are available. The SRS is also economical and fully disposable.

Resists Clogging

The O-ring is located at the back of the carbon holder to prevent particle build up.

Dynamically Balanced

The hydraulic balance is achieved within component parts of the unit. This eliminates the need for special shaft sleeves or costly shouldered shafts.

No Shaft Fretting

Static O-ring eliminates shaft sleeve wear.

Reusable Sleeves

Since you can reuse your old pump sleeves, this seal can save you the cost of sleeve replacement.

Isolated Springs

Springs are located out of fluid away from clogging particles and corrosive penetration.

Ease of Installation

One working dimension common to all SRS seals.

Short-working Length

The SRS will fit shorter stuffing boxes.
